Come and meet with us in a relaxed and entertaining environment. If you are currently a woodturner or just interested in the art of woodturning - something for everyone.
The evening follows a relaxed and informal schedule :-
• Update from the Club Chairman about anything that has happened since the last meeting and future events
• Monthly Competition – where we all anonymously vote for our favourite novice and expert turned entry
• Tea break and natter – catch up with other members and get to know new/potential members
• Demonstration from an experienced club member
• Commentary from an experienced member on the competition entries
• Finish
The club shop is open for the purchase of wood blanks and consumables such as wood finishes etc. We also have a comprehensive library of books that can be loaned out, together with back numbers of Woodturning magazine.
This friendly and well supported club has a comprehensive range of equipment kept at Probus, including 6 powered lathes.
This year Mid Cornwall Turners have been invited to exhibit and demonstrate at the Royal Cornwall Show and Lobbs Barn (Lost Gardens of Heligan) and also receive guest Professional Demonstrators throughout the year.
We support charities and this year the chosen charity is Cornwall Air Ambulance..
When you (and your guest) arrive at the club, you will notice that everyone is wearing a name badge and is genuinely friendly and welcoming. You will also be given a name badge, as we appreciate it can be difficult (and potentially embarrassing) to remember names of people as you chat to them.
Also, a specific member will be your “host” for the evening, hopefully being able to answer any questions and introducing you to the other members in attendance.
